Behind on your books? You are in good company · 5.0 / 47 verified Google reviews

You cannot plan taxes on books you do not trust. The richest families plan all year because their numbers are right all year. Yours can be too.

Looking for a bookkeeper in San Antonio. Who also knows your taxes.

Most owners we meet are behind. Some by a few months, some by a few years. They are not lazy. Bookkeeping is just the job that always loses to the work that pays. Here is what makes this different. The people who keep your books are the same people who file your taxes. Nothing gets handed off, nothing gets lost, and nothing has to be redone in the spring. Our office is at 8131 W Hausman Rd Ste 117 in northwest San Antonio. Most of the work happens online.

What we do

Bookkeeping services in San Antonio.

Every one of these is built to hold up at tax time, because we are the ones who file it.

Monthly bookkeeping

Every transaction sorted every month. Your personal spending stays out of your business. You get a Profit and Loss and a Balance Sheet you can actually read.

Catch-up and cleanup

Behind by a few months or a few years? We go back and fix it. Most owners who call us are behind, and it is the most common thing we do.

Books built for your tax return

Your books are set up the way your tax return needs them. Same firm, same team, no handoff. Nothing gets lost between the bookkeeper and the preparer.

Untangling personal and business money

Personal and business money in one account is the number one thing we fix. We separate the two, then set your accounts up so they stop mixing.

Bookkeeping for contractors and trades

We track what each job cost you, including materials and what you paid your subs. You get to see which jobs made money and which ones did not.

Rental property books

One set of books per property. Repairs kept apart from improvements, which is the split that decides your write-off.

Why it matters

Five reasons San Antonio owners stop doing their own books.

These are the reasons people actually give us on the first call.

  1. 01

You cannot make a good decision on bad numbers

If your books are behind, you are guessing. You do not know what you keep, what a job earns, or whether you can afford to hire. Clean books turn guessing into knowing.

  2. 02

Messy books cost you real money at tax time

Deductions get missed because nobody could tell what a charge was for. Money you put into the business gets counted as sales, so you pay tax on your own cash. We see both every month.

  3. 03

Texas has no state income tax, so the federal side is where the work is

You get a break most states do not. That makes clean records worth more here, not less. Your books are what turn a write-off into one you can prove.

  4. 04

Waiting makes it more expensive, never less

Statements get harder to pull. Receipts disappear. What you remember about a charge from last spring is gone. Cleanup done early is faster and cheaper than cleanup done under a deadline.

  5. 05

    You want your evenings back

Most owners doing their own books do it late at night and hate it. It is the task that gets pushed the longest and causes the most dread. Handing it off is usually the first thing that makes work feel manageable again.

In a city full of bookkeepers

What actually makes ours different.

Not a longer list of tasks. A short list of things most bookkeepers skip.

  • Your books are built for your tax return. Same firm, same team. Most owners have a bookkeeper who has never spoken to their tax preparer. That gap is where money gets lost.
  • Money you put into your business is not counted as sales. When you move your own cash in, or take a loan, or transfer between your own accounts, that is not income. Coding it wrong makes you pay tax on your own money. It is the most common error we find in books someone else kept.
  • We check the charges a bank line cannot explain. A charge at a store that sells everything from paper towels to laptops tells us nothing on its own. We find out what it actually was, because the answer changes how it is treated.
  • Big purchases get looked at, not just filed away. Some equipment should be written off over several years and some can come off all at once. Which one it is can change your tax bill by thousands. Nobody catches that from a bank feed alone.
  • Every account gets checked against the statement, every month. Not most months. Not most accounts. If the numbers do not match, it is not done.
What changes fast

What you will notice in the first 30 days.

You will know how far behind you actually are, which is usually less scary than what you imagined. You will see your personal spending pulled out of your business for the first time. You will get a Profit and Loss that makes sense when you read it, not one you have to decode. And you will stop having the thought that shows up every Sunday night, the one about the books you have not touched.

How it works

Common questions

What San Antonio owners ask us first.

How much does a bookkeeper cost in San Antonio?

It depends on how much activity your business has, not on how much you make. A business with fifty transactions a month is a very different job from one with four hundred. Your price also changes based on how many bank and card accounts you have. Payroll and sales tax can change it too. You also pay for Kick, the app your books live in, and that account stays yours. That is why we look at your books before we quote. You get a real number based on your business, not a guess. Ask about the free plan first. It needs all three: under 20 transactions a month, we file your tax return, and a short video at 30 days telling us how it went. If any of those does not fit, you get a real number on the call.

I am years behind on my books. Is that too far gone?

No. Being behind is the most common reason people call us. We have caught up books that had not been touched in years. It is normal, we are not going to make you feel bad about it, and it is fixable. The longer you wait the harder it gets, because statements get harder to pull and you forget what the charges were for. So the best time to start is now, not January.

What is the difference between a bookkeeper and a CPA?

A bookkeeper records what happened. A CPA or an EA (an Enrolled Agent, someone licensed to deal with the IRS for you) files your return. Most businesses need both, and most of the time those are two different companies who never talk. We are one firm that does both. Your books are built by the same people who file your return, so nothing gets lost in the handoff and nothing has to be redone in the spring.

Do you work with businesses outside San Antonio?

Yes. Our office is in northwest San Antonio and we serve clients all over the country. Almost all of the work happens online, so where you are does not change how well we can do it. If you are local and want to meet in person, we do that by appointment.

What software do you use?

We use Kick for every client. We only use one system on purpose. Running one platform means we know it deeply, our process is the same for everyone, and your books get the same care every single month. If your books are somewhere else right now, we move them over as part of getting started.

How do I know my books are actually right?

Ask two questions of whoever keeps your books today. First, does every account match the statement every month? Second, is the money you put into the business showing up as sales? That second one is the most common mistake we find, and it makes you pay tax on your own money. Both get checked here every month.

What do I need to get started?

Your bank and credit card statements, and a few minutes to tell us how your business works. That is it. If you do not have everything, we will help you get it. Nobody has ever shown up with a perfect file.

Next step

Get your books caught up. Free if all three fit.

First we look at your books and tell you what shape they are in. That part is free and costs you nothing. Your monthly bookkeeping is free too when all three fit: under 20 transactions a month, we file your tax return, and you record a short video at 30 days. More going on than that? You get a real number on the call, based on your actual books.
